1969 s double die

    Not necessarily. The grading companies will only put such notations on the slab if the submitter of the coin ask them to do so - and pays extra for it.

    In this case however, I do not think it would have happened even if the submitter had requested it for that looks like mechanical doubling to me - not a doubled die coin.

    I agree, this is ejection doubling, not a doubled die, which makes this piece worth about $.03. The seller is going to pay a hefty fee for posting this auction. Hopefully, it will be a good learning experience for him. I don't think anyone woth $11,000 to spend on a coin will be taken in by this piece. Good photos, though.

    Oops! Got my decimal in the wrong place! The bid is up to $29.00 at this time. Looks like someone is going to get burned.

    OK. Looks like the seller has revised the listing and has accurately described the piece, probably due to the sharing of information from folks in this group...
