    @Fancymoney
    After looking at your Cent.. It is a normal strike

    This is what you need to see -
    Look at the B in LIBERTY
    Look at the word GOD
    They show really visual doubling

    Let me tell you my man, you can learn an awful lot here on this sight but you need to know that the members here are very knowledgeable but they can be hard on the people just joining but it's only to help you learn. I've learned the hard way but I'll not tell you my opinion on your 1969S cent, I'll let the long timers tell you. But if you keep at it and don't take anything personal, you will learn alot. Good luck to you my new friend. Wish you all the luck.

    It is not the major one. Impossible to tell from images if it is the minor one.

    The 1969-S is INCREDIBLY rare, and the doubling is prominent.

    No, it is not, I am sorry to tell you. But it is a pretty coin, if you like pretty coins. There were over a half-billion of these 1969-S minted, and only an estimated 100 of the DDO released into circulation. As such, I would not feel too bad this just was not your lucky day.

    Read and look at as many examples as you can find on doubling, machine strikes and the whole minting process. I began coin roll hunting in March of 2017 to fill Lincoln cent books for my new grandson and got hooked, the books are getting filled, I found a 1928 S today I needed, also I have found about 300 error coins, 25 are listed with Cuds On Coins, rpms, etc. In 2017, I looked at about 800,000 Lincoln cents, so it is a numbers game. Interestingly, the most valuable coin I found in 2017, was a low mintage 1900 Hungarian coin worth, maybe $500, and it was in a bank box of Lincolns. Everything I have learned about penny hunting, I learned by posting here, lots of mistakes too.

    The point of my post was to encourage the new member and give some hints. I posted the Hungarian coin to the Coin Talk, What is it worth? And a reply came back, if graded maybe $500. This in not my claim. I posted it to World Coins as well and was encouraged to send pictures of the coin to Pannonia Terra Numizmatika, a coin auction house in Hungary, so I did last week. Seems if you collect this series, this is a must have and some European collectors do, there were a little over a half million minted. If it should sell, I will post the results. I hope the point of my post was not lost in this discussion.
