The 1969 S DDO is of course one of the coolest and most value Lincoln Cents out there...and when I purchased this a few months ago I didn't even examine it too much more than an eye squint because well...I hardly ever win on a scratch off...doubt I will find a '69 S DDO LOL But...then I looked...front and back...and this is what I am seeing. Now please tell me what you see. Sure, maybe its a worn die...but is there not doubling!?
The reverse is where my focus is intended. I know the variety is a DDO, but can it be possible there are some DDR's yet to be discovered?
No offense meant, but your certainty that it is a DDO does not create the same certainty in me. And I don't think it is a DDR based on your photos.
I am not certain it is a DDO, that is not what I am saying. My wording may be misleading as I intended to point to the fact that the 1969 S DDO is the KNOWN variety and a DDR is not (from what I can see) either recognized or yet to be discovered. I do think based on every which way I look, there is clearly some time of doubling. I would say @cpm9ball is accurate in his description. I should have worded it better haha, and you're more than welcome to your opinion, that is why I posted.
Why are you "sure" he is accurate in his description? Did you look up those terms he used and study what they mean? I ask because, if you knew the terms' meaning, it is plain as the nose on your face that that is "machine-mechanical-strike-ejection-shelf" doubling on that reverse. In fact, I will bet more reverses of Lincoln cents have those same attributes than do not.
