1969 Penny Filled in 9

This sort of die break is not all that uncommon. To form the interior of a number or letter, a metal post is created on the die. Sometimes that post breaks off from the stress of continually striking planchets. The void is then filled by the metal flow. This type of error is not one that you will find listed and is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

FWIW, it is not really necessary to use the poll option for this thread because it serves no purpose.

We have a '57, too. This is the first I've seen on a '64.

 

Ice. It's not a '69. We tell that by looking at the date.
