    USB microscopes. Be very attentive when you research one. You want a camera pickup of at least 3 megapixels but the higher the more expensive. Pluggable has one that has a high end magnification they say is 250x, but the megapixel rating is only 2MP. For all intentions and purposes it is very good but its' focal plane is extremely thin at high mag. $35-40.

    One repetitive problem with all pictures is lighting. The standard way is a single tungsten lamp from overhead but 2 lamps, around 40 watts each placed at 10 and 2 o'clock gives a better balanced illumination. Tungsten light is yellowish, L.E.D. light is blueish, you want to get a good white balance for your pics.

    Diffusing the light helps reduce reflections and glare but, once again, you must research carefully before buying and decide what works for you...Spark
