Okay- so I went through the list on copper coins, Wexler and Variety Vista. Fingers crossed I got this one right! What do you guys think??? I’m sure I don’t need to point this out, but my pics would be the horrible ones with the red arrows! I tried my best, but it’s looking like my photography skills are just plain terrible!!
so .... which are you identifying it as ? 1969 DDO-001 ? ==> http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1969PDDO001.htm
Wexler's 001 has 4 die markers, 2 x OBV and 2 x REV. I can see 2 out of 4 but the images you posted are so pixellated that seeing any others is not possible. When you have in focus photos , when each one is uploaded to your post, click on FULL IMAGE as thumbnails just won't do when you are looking for tiny details.
I agree with expat on 2 of 4. next time you take pictures put the coin on a piece of plain white or black paper (this helps prevents the camera from focusing on the carpet fabric behind it instead of the coin), and also put a white piece of paper above the camera (or between the light source and subject) so that the direct light isn't creating hot spots and such. This will also soften the light and make the image much better assuming that there is a good amount of light to begin with.
Thank you!! I cannot seem to figure out taking photos of coins, lol! I will give it a shot! I feel positive that all 4 markers are there- I can see them all through my loupe! But taking photos of them is a whole other story!! I will try some photo close up app I have instead of my microscope and update as soon as I can! And I actually clicked on full size photo. I don’t know what happened. I do know that I can see the whole photo if I click on the thumbnail- I’ve always assumed everyone else could as well!
Just noticed your name! Where are you from/where have you been? I was an expat in Saudi the last 12 years!
we can also see it if we click on it. but we're lazy down the road when you start helping other newbies you'll get tired of having to "click to see" the image when one can just make it full size to begin with.
I would like to caution about using any app which enhances an image as they also produce false pixels to smooth the image and thus may eliminate some detail needed for ID. If you are using a regular camera such as a cell phone or regular photography type, you can put magnifying lens in front as they just magnify and do not add any extra pixels. The best photograph , I believe to compare is the ....6b... I believe i the number. It has distinct lines on the 'G' and the 'O' of the reference and the coin photo doesn't show these. I believe the 'doubling' you see is just MD. Sorry . Jim
