The other day my grandpa had two Israeli mint sets, both dated 1969. I was wondering if you could tell me what it's worth, and if possible, what each individual coin is worth.

    Thanks Again!

Well, the 2006 Krause 33rd Ed. says the set on the right (KM#MS12) was issued at a price equivalent to US$3.50, and hasn't appreciated any in value in the last 37 years. My guess is that it could bring $5-7.50 plus S/H if offered on EBay.

There is no separate listing for the 1948-69 typeset, but it's probably about the same value as the other one. The individual coins are all common, and of no significant value.

If you have a close relationship to your grandpa and use coins as a common social topic then I am sure that the set you are discussing is worth more then any Krause book listing.
Hate sounding like an advertisment but there will be a time when you can look at personal items of those you love and still have a connection no matter how far they may be.

Roy,Israel did issue a series of Piedfort Proof sets in the late 1960's & 1970's.I think these are worth a lot of money. What is Krause's prices on these? Please can you give us the dates in both JY & AD years?

    Aidan.

With 128 entries in that category, from JE5741/CE1981-JE5760/CE2000, I wouldn't even think about thinking about listing all the prices, dates and the descriptions without which prices and dates would be meaningless. :D

Catalog values from US$1.25-12 are given for about two-thirds of the issues, and the remainder have no valuation shown. Since I don't collect Israeli coinage except as part of my OFEC collection, I don't have a hint how accurate those prices may be. [IMG]

    Israel Coin Prices....

You can get a good feeling for the dealer pricing for Israeli Coins at the following websites:

    http://www.isracoins.com
    http://www.rosenblumcoins.com
    http://www.commem.com

You may also find a price list at the AINA website at this LINK. The The AINA puts out a great publication, but the website needs major updating. If there are any volunteers out there, maybe President Mel Wacks would let you take a stab at it. Sadly, the Israel Market is not what it used to be.

I also put some links together on my personal website at this LINK. Delete this line if necessary.

    Good luck and Happy collecting....

A one cent coin is called a penny, and a five cent coin is called a nickel. It has been such since the beginning, which is 1793 and 1865 respectively. Thus there is such a thing as a penny.

Back on topic, Israeli coins from 1969 are all base metal junk. They are good as type coins, however...
