Please zoom into images to see the doubling. I was just cherry picking and i happened to find my first decent double die. I looker at many sites including wexler, varietyvista, and coppercoins and im fairly certain that this varietion of the 1968 double die obverse in unlisted. im also curious about its value. im guessing like $40. help appreciated. thanks!
looks like MD to me, worth 1 cent, especially since the mint mark is doubled the same as the date, this can not happen with true doubling as the mint mark was hand punched into the die after it was made and therefore after any doubling of the die occurred..
@NathanD Yes to Mechanical Doubling.. Not a Doubled Die Variety and not worth $40.00.. Only worth 1 Cent
Yeah. I see. I was kind of concerned about that because I do know about how RPM's ocurr and was therefore rather confused when I saw that they were both doubled. Thanks
Wait another second.. Mechanical Doubling not only occurs on letters and numerals but on the profile also!
