1968 Washington Quarter "Trailing R"

    Was looking through coins today and found this. The R on the obverse leaves a raised trail after it. Is this an error and if so what would it be?

    I'd refer to those extra globs of metal as CUDS, but am no expert in errors. The next person should be of more help......

    No i definitely dont think those are cuds. Cuds usually happen on the rim. I would say die chips of some sort but would need some clearer pics to confirm

    thanks for correcting me there was a tiny doubt if they always happened on the rim or not
