If it helps at all, I just started getting into coin collecting so I'm trying to collect as much knowledge as possible and so far this forum has been immensely helpful. As I run into more good examples of different kinds of NAV errors I'm setting them aside for study!
Yes but i could throw back 10 good things right now, since I obviously still don't have a handle on how to tell the difference. I joined this forum to learn because I can't find any other way, but I'm getting the feeling from the tone of the replies that you guys are getting annoyed with my posts. I'll curb them.
I know what you mean. I go through struggles every week with what I call the "Elders" . More experienced collectors . We have to listen to them, sit back some and learn from other posts for a bit . It's not you or your posts my friend .
You are missing the point. Considering the number of posts from you, we can see growth in your understanding of the difference between DDO, MD, DDD, DDR, etc. and you are now beginning to ask if your assessment of a coin's condition is correct. I have been collecting coins for more than 50 years, but I really did not study them. When I joined CT, my actual knowledge of the intricacies of this hobby was extremely limited and some will argue it still is, however, when I look back to 2018 compared to 2020, I believe my posts indicate growth in my understanding of some of the issues we are confronted with each day when asked to GTG (guess the grade) of a coin, how much is this coin worth, does this coin look right because I was thinking of buying it, is this coin a DDO, Is this coin a RPM, etc. Back in early 2020 or late 2019, I found a 1972 DDO and asked for confirmation and after I posted a series of additional photos, I was told it was a DDO-002. Here's the best part of this forum. Two weeks later, I found another 1972 DDO and after agreeing with me, the other member asked which variety I had found, so after a few hours, I responded with the wrong variety and was told to try again. After checking once more, it turned out to be a DDO-003. @furryfrog02 knew which variation it was, but made me do the work.
