Is this 1968 s Lincoln cent in the same category of the 1964 I posted? Something looks like it is under the midmark on the right side of the s it looks like a vertical bar . Did the D in God take a hit or a broken die have done that. Looks like a pretty big hit .I don't see the contact Mark. What's going on with Lincoln on the reverse is that column to his right double towards the bottom and checked on variety Vista and got all kinds of stuff in there. How do you,if you're not a professional yet, have the time to go through all the Lincoln cents looking for errors I mean one coin to take you hours to look up if you go to different sites . I guess when you get to a certain level of education you don't need to do that .I think I answered my own question
That's good.... Just don't spend too much time on one coin unless it's a big deal. It's okay to learn the little anomalies but the big stuff is where it's at. No extra value for the things you speak of. Just my.....
Yeah I've been trying to do that but I keep on going after the small stuff where can I find a cheat sheet that has the Lincoln memorials that are worth some kind of money instead of me chasing, thanks a lot

The coin is somewhat normal excepting the non-value of the "Die deterioration doubling" coins Jim. That is when the dies are overused and start to spread outwards the edges. Which most likely caused the mint mark and other spreads. So common that face value is about it. Jim

I agree. But, I'm glad you posted an 1864 two cent piece. Just about my favorite U.S. coin (ok, I've got several "favorites", but I did say "just about"). I like the coin, I just do. But I love the coin because it's the first U.S. coin with the motto, "In God We Trust" on it. Thanks for picking that one to post. Brought a smile to my face! And, you're so right, you can get "bogged down" looking at Lincolns in a hurry.
