This is a 1968 S one cent ddo , the mint mark looks like an S over D I wish I could get better pictures but this is the best my phone can do. 20230822_203943~2.jpg 20230822_203943~2.jpg 20230822_211707~2.jpg 20230822_203540~2.jpg 20230822_211714~2.jpg

Yeah, a little blue in the face as well.
I'm so confused. I'm not sure of anything here except the blueness of the portrait. ;)

We will need better photos to confirm what you might have there. Here's a setup to consider:

I have a 1968 S DDO in uncirculated condition...if I remember I'll photograph it and post it for reference. Good luck with the setup. Keep in mind that the most expensive thing in the setup above is the light I bought to fit inside the shoebox. My old iPhone is left there to take the pics, but everything else is repurposed materials. Getting sharp pictures comes down to the optimal focal length for your setup, camera to specimen. If you don't find optimum, you may over pixelate the photos or be out of focus.

I like your shoebox photo set up… A lot… What does the sheet of glass accomplish for you? Does it manage glare or something?

I’m not seeing an over mint mark. I am seeing an S blob mint mark.

I am only seeing some machine doubling on the obverse die ( quite used). Jim

Hi Randy - the pane of glass reflects the light so it hits the specimen indirectly. This way it reduces the glare spots on the coin while providing the lighting needed. The pane of glass came from a broken picture frame. Additionally, nothing in the way when taking pictures.

What do you use for the dark backing under the glass
