    Hello All,

Could this Jefferson be a 1968 S Variety??
I know it's isn't a proof coin like the Varieties shown in my researches in sites like https://www2.briansvarietycoins.com/listings/cat/41
but it could deserves an analysis, just for the case.
    Any thoughts can help.

The dies for this year from San Fran took a beating, on both nickels and cents and often ended up with chips in the loops from deteriorating dies. I think this one of yours is a good example. But not a variety. The extra you see near the loops are not positioned correctly to be an RPM. JMHO.

I posted a few weeks back about mint mark styles ...varietyvista.com and yes the 68 has two styles of S mm used.

It's the polka dot variety. Some have more or less polka dots, but it's not a new variety. Unless you've something specific you're wondering at, but of course you didn't say.
