Hi, while going thru my grandmothers coin collection recently I came across two different sets of proofs for the year 1968. One is in blue cardboard with a sealed plastic case. The other is in a white envelope sealed in paperlike plastic. They are both from the San Francisco mint as there is a plastic coin sealed in with them stating so. The second one I mentioned has no S on the dime. Looking for ideas of value? Thank you

The 68 proof set with a no S dime is rare. Please post an image of the set or the dime.

    Pics

These are the best pics that I can get with my camera for now. I may have to borrow a better camera from a friend for a better. On the other set the S is above the year and this set definitely does not have it.

Looks like a Mint set instead of Proof set. That would explain the no "S" mint mark. You should also have the "D" and "S" coins, which would be in separate cellophane packs inside the business envelope.

And Robec is correct. That white envelope is an indicator of a mint set.

That is the Philidelphia sleeve of the 1968 mint set, the blue stripe on the top denotes that. The white envelope has the address of the San Francisco mint but all the mint sets of that era had that on the envelopes though the sleeves were from the Denver and Philidelphia mints.:)
