I have a Lincoln penny that is black in some areas and copper in others posting pics if any one can tell me about it.seems odd cause on the back the memorial is black between p illars and copper the res t.
Interesting colors.. The reason it looks like that is due to Environmental Damage. Somehow the elements affected it.. Or someone colored it and figured out how to keep the raised areas from turning black.. It surely was not minted that way.
That’s the new trueview? It was most likely in a fountain or buried along the way then returned to circulation which polished off the devices.
