1968 Double Die Penny?

    Okay.. here's the latest find of the day and it has me confused. It has doubling but it appears more like a layer of copper has been applied over the existing die. The only exception is the T in Trust which looks like it's been butchered and the R in trust looks like it was forced into place.

    U= Strike/mechanical Doubling.



    The rest, I don't see anything

    okay , thanks. The rest must be machine doubling too.

    Don't see any doubled die if that's what you're wanting to know.

    Yeah Dude, that is what I wanted to know. I am still new at this and trying to figure out what is DD and what is Machining DD. Thanks.

    You will grasp it in due time just keep looking at different images of each type of doubling ,and this is just the begin it is a science.

    .When you are capable of distingushing the 8 forms of hub doubling actually 9 now with the new doubled dies that are coming out a whole new classification then you covered everything in the world of doubling. Good luck it's a great challenge.
