    The melt value, about $3.75, is probably more than its numismatic value.

    Halves never did circulate much. That being said the clad silver half is probably the most common silver coin that you'll find in circulation. Coin roll searchers find them fairly often.
    I agree on the melt value of $3.75 but you'll probably only be offered $2.50 as a buy price.

    Definitely not AU... there is some wear and a few scratch marks... I’d say XF and like everybody else said, worth less than melt
