OK so I have a 1968-D nickel but according to the PCGS website there is one type of 1968-D nickel that is worth 150-4000 dollars?? What kind is this, what should i look for on my nickel to see if i have this?

There are a few doubled dies and a few RPM's for this date but are fairly minor and not cost this much. Without seeing the PCGS prices you are referring to I can only assume it is for an example with Full Steps (FS) which are extremly rare for the 1968D.
Doing a quick search on teletrade it looks like the same nickel sold in Jun 2003 for $2600.00 and in Jul 2003 for $1600. Graded ANACS MS65 5 Full Steps. Other than that the only PCGS coins selling for over $100.00 where MS66 examples without FS.

On the reverse on the steps of Monticello there are 6 steps. To be considered Full Steps at least 5 of the Steps must be complete with no deep nicks or marks. Some years they are very common others they are extremly rare and some years no 6 full steps exist. All years after 1990 Full Steps are very common.
