Looks like just plain old 'wear' to me Mary, but I'm no expert. Others more knowledgeable will be along shortly. Welcome to the forum.......
This is normal on 1968 Lincolns. They had used the same master hub since 1960 and it was almost worn completely out by 1968. This is also the reason that so many 1968 cents have the letters of the motto creeping into the rim. They changed to a new master hub in 1969.
Since 2011, all Lincoln Cents have been produced in error. As for the OP's coin, it appear perfectly normal for a coin struck from tired dies.
Awww shucks green18... I do agree with at least half of your statement...non_cents definately knows his stuff. I've learned a ton from him Me, I'm just a padawan.

Welcome to the neighborhood! Leila, it is best to start a new thread. This one is a few years old. You can do this by selecting the "Post New Thread" button near the top of the thread listing page for each topic. Also, without pictures we cannot help you. When you post the pictures, select the "Full Image" option. The thumbnails are a pain to review.
Oh, I'm sure you're not seeing things. While you're doing that, why don't you show us a picture of what you're not seeing? We'll tell you if we're not, too. We're experts, you know.
