I see what you mean, but I don't think this is either intended or an error. Let's see what other people see.

Looks like letters but it’s not. Just wear that is perceived by our brains to look like familiar shapes.

I really don't think this is wear,

@Mattellis. Absolutely no insult to you or anyone else who came to read the thread was intended by posting a word and it's definition. I had to look it up again and thought I would share it here in case someone else had forgotten it too, like I had. Since you started this thread, I have removed my post with the definition.

Actually you didn't remove the post, you just made it blank...you intended no disrespect and delivered none, in my estimation. I notice he has not been back on since his little hissy fit. Do we REALLY need posters like this?

Other than the dirt by the rim I'm not seeing anything. I feel like I'm trying to find a polar bear in a blizzard.

Over the time I've been on this board it becomes very obvious that Reality and Unbiasedness are usually lost as Hope and Desire and the Drive to be Right take precedence over ... well, common sense.

The only REAL solution to this is to send your coin off to authentication/grading
    ==> https://www.pcgs.com/submissionform/usaform.pdf
this will provide you the evidence to prove the above posters wrong, and you right.

Of course it takes money ... but the old adage put your money where your mouth is comes into play.

This quarter is 51 years old and still circulating.
Do you happen to have a car that is 51 years old and is a daily driver ?

Even though we may sound like hacks .. and have the perception of it, you'll find that there are TPG graders on this board and your Top Experts in certain areas of numismatics.

But what is your objective, what are you trying to prove with this quarter?
Is this one of those $8,800 1968 D quarters you think you've found? If so, the $50 authentication costs far outweigh the $8,800 valuation .. right?

    Or, is it worth more?

What do you want us to see?
Letters in places where they can't possibly be Before or During the Minting process? Doubling based on what ?

Do you have comparison photos from a well respected website you are comparing to? Or some YouTube video ??

Just make sure you don't make an inkblot test out of each coin you come across.
