1968 D Double Die???

    Agreed, pictures aren't close/detailed enough.

    Also, from my experience, when you are seeing "doubling" on just the mint mark it is most likely either 1) damage, 2) MD, 3) an RPM - which is not actually doubling.

    I use it every time I see something through my loupe that looks interesting.

    Also, if anything it would be an RPM (repunched Mintmark) not a doubleD die

    So it appears to be a very well struck RPM?

    I'm leaning more towards it taking a hit on the mint mark and not being a RPM.
