Doesn't look like it to me: http://coppercoins.com/lincoln/diestate.php?date=1968&die_id=1968d1mm009&die_state=mds
Watch out about asking for help on anything that has NOT been attributed before. The answers will most likely be whatever someone can say in between bites of a bologna sandwich. The D/D has many versions and each die marker must be there .Do research and see for sure before presenting to these, ahem, experts for answers.versions One that is documented is the 1968-D DDO-002, 2-O-II-E http://www.varietyvista.com/01b LC Doubled Dies Vol 2/1968DDDO002.htm. http://www.error-ref.com/misplaced-mintmark/
according to Mr. Wexler "In some cases the mint mark punches are so closely overlapping that it is not possible to give a direction. Often the one punch will be "tilted" or "rotated" with respect to the other. The Wexler RPM Files refer to these as "D/D Tilted" while CONECA refers to them as "D/D Rotated." When you see these descriptions for RPM varieties it is important for you to realize that they are referring to the same type of mint mark orientations." is kinda what I saw but then again not 100% certain. You could be entirely correct.
I only have a photo to go on but it looks to me as if the left side of the D took a small hit and pushed it to the right.
