First- I want to say I am TOTALLY new to coins! So I really have no clue, so pls don’t be too harsh on me! I just came across this today at my yardsale and simply thought it was different than my other quarters- the same year. The ring around is not straight & I have no idea if it’s something or nothing! Any ideas would be great! Thanks in advance!

  3. Just took a hit at some point. Unfortunately nothing added value wise.

Welcome to CoinTalk and the hobby. First of all, always hold coins by the edge, never the faces, unless you are planning on spending it. Also, it is always best to post photos of both sides of a coin. Your quarter is just damaged (Post mint damage or PMD) and is worth a quarter dollar.

Lol!! Thank you very much for the tips and reply! I always read other people’s posts and I am usually more clueless afterwards!! I have quite a collection of old coins, I’ve always kept any older coins I’ve come across, and just recently came to realize that there are way more errors than I thought! I’ve also managed to collect coins from all over the world- mostly traveling and just keeping some of everything, but I was a teacher in Saudi Arabia for ten years, so I’ve managed quite a bit of rare Arabian coins as well! Thanks again! Hope to come by something more interesting one day!!
