A crack in the die would produce a raised line on the coin. The line appears to be indented into the coin which would indicate it is most likely PMD. Also, note how the indented line crosses not only the fields but also the raised devices. That is further evidence of PMD. If the die had been scratched the scratch most likely would not have been able to reach the deep recesses of the devices (incuse on the die but raised on the coin). Plus, as with a cracked die, a scratch on the die would produce a raised mark on the coin.
Thanks hobo. I have never seen a die crack coin yet and was not sure, and that is good info. If the die was cracked it would have to leave a raised mark on the coin. Thanks again
