There appears to be either a letter G or a #6 on the cheek. Can anyone tell me anything about this coin Thank you
Hi, and welcome to Cointalk. With the photo provided, I can see now that your dime has a 'contact' or 'hit' mark on the cheek. It is not a number or digit - it's a mark from the coin being in circulation. Not what you had hoped or thought it might be - sorry.
Welcome to CT @Bentti06. Any wear from circulation or damage after a coin leaves the mint is PMD, post mint damage. Also read this: Pareidolia [ˌperēˈdōlēə] NOUN 1. the perception of apparently significant patterns or recognizable images, especially faces, in random or accidental arrangements of shapes and lines.
