    I agree. Circulation wear and tear. And if that is the true color then add environmental toning.

    I do not see any doubling.

    With that being said, I think it should be noted that the search for varieties should not trump or be more important than the condition of a coin. I don't know what it was that got @Ted smith started collecting coins, but he should understand that learning how to approximate the grade of a coin is much more important than identifying a variety.
