1967 dime, missing letters, error?

    1967 Roosevelt Dime
    "Missing letters"
    In the right light, I can slightly see the letters...and the rest of the letters look bold....

    Would this be an error coin?
    I'm keeping it either way

    IMO it would be hard for me to give you my opinion based on those pics, so let's see what others have to say.JMHO

    It is an error (meaning it came from the mint that way) but it is pretty common. The die gets filled up with something (often said to be grease) and the letters are missing. Generally worth only face value unless someone will give you more. Welcome to CT

    I was going to say grease filled die as well.
