Was just sorting through my coins today and came across this, highly doubt its valuable, but I just wanted to know if anyone knew if it was a printing error or some kind of circulation damage. Thanks :)

That is post strike damage for certain. It could have occurred any number of ways, both intentionally or unintentionally. Vending machine or coin counter are two things that come to mind.

    This is very common.
It occurs from the coin counting machines.
It is also found in the cent of the coin, commonly on the obverse center, perhaps because that is where we look first.

Damage from a coin wrapping machine. The circular scatch is caused by the element that rolls the end of the paper tube in the creation of a "shotgun" roll.

And it happens a lot on dimes from what I've seen...and it's nothing new..check this out!
This is from an old counting machine and as Mike Diamond has said, yours is from a rolling machine.

Nice picture, and, yup, I have a few (too many) of the same damage. Strangely usually on the obverse.

Thanks for the response guys. Kinda figured it had to me some kinda scratching, didn't look anything like something a die could re-create. Glad to find a place where I can get some questions answered :)
