I keep looking, with the hopes of finding something eventually. Can someone please tell me if this looks like a doubled die or if it is another strike doubling that I always seem to find! :smile Thank you for all of the help.
It's hard to tell from your photos. The glare on the (presumed) area in question doesn't help. Did you check the reverse for the DDR FS-801? If you have the complete set of the 1966 SMS, you should also check the Kennedy. There are several DDO's and one missing the designer's initials on the reverse. Chris

I was able to kill some of the glare and get what I think is a better picture. I did check and designers initials are there. I do not see anything listed in the Cherrypickers' Guide about a DDR...what should I look for? Thanks again!
Doh! Dumb me! This is a Kennedy! Yes, it sure looks like a DDO. It could be the FS-103 or the FS-104. Both have doubling on IGWT, the eye, the hair, the designer's initials and the profile, but the FS-104 also has doubling on the "TY" of LIBERTY. Here are some of my photos...... Chris
Thank you very much for the info. I do not see any doubling in IGWT (and I usually see it everywhere) and I just can not seem to get a good enough picture of those areas to post. I am just glad I finally found something different!
I got "Yes, it sure looks like a DDO" and at this point that is good enough for me!! Thank you very much!
Your half dollar is a 66 SMS doubled die (double profile). You should use the CONECA Master Listings on Variety Vista and try to attrubute it. http://www.varietyvista.com/ Larry Nienaber
