Found this today, pretty sure it is MDD but just wanted some confirmation because I have some questions. My questions pertain to the picture with arrows in it. Would the area where the arrows are pointing have any type of notching that would make this a DDO? Thanks!
Unfortunately it is machine doubling. The dead giveaway is the way the doubling around the E in WE wraps around the top and back side of the E. An actual doubled die would have a notch because it's an exact offset impression of the device. The shelf like appearance is due to the squeezing of the first strike and causing it to spread like butter.
