looking through an old box of nuts and bolts I came across a small block of resin which has 1966 lincoln cent in it. I wondered why someone would try to preserve this coin, so I tryed to find any info. on a pos.key date for that year but found none. The coller of the coin seems to be a bright silver any ideas???

It could be encased in lucite. That was a common thing to find many years ago. All kinds of things were encased in lucite as novelties or neat decorations.

I've seen some like that which were then intended to be worn in a bezel as a necklace or as part of a keychain.

No problem! When I posted, I was just thinking of the offerings in 1966 with a Small Block engine. Ford was the one that came to mind and I really do like Fords better than Chevys. When I was 16 ot 17 and working in a Shell Station in Gatlinburg, Tennessee, a gentleman brought a beautiful 1966 Shelby GT Fastback in for a tune-up. Talking about sweeeeet!!!!!! However, Gene (one of the mechanics) took on the job before he looked under the hood. The car had a 429 in it which looked like it was poured into the car. It was that tight and it took Gene about 8 hours to change the Spark Plugs and he was miffed. Besides the $40 tip to Gene, the gentleman pulled out of the Station and burnt the tires in all 4 gears.

I was thinking 350 when I first saw "small block." Then, I saw 1966 and was thinking 327. I can't say I was surprised to see a coin...but when you have great loves for both coins and cars, it's nice either way.
