1966 Lincoln Pattern

    Here is a 1966 lincoln memorial cent pattern of some type next to a DDO 1966 lincoln cent. Has anyone seen this one before

    Interesting, there is a design difference between the two coins. the left edge of the coat lapels are different. On the right cent the left edge of the lapel is straight while on the left cent the edge of the lapel has a distinct offset.

    Lincolns nose has an extra nostril of some type

    That's my thought.

    If I am seeing everything right, it is PMD. That piece of extra lapel appears to have 4 sides and is slightly different in color from the rest of the coin. I would guess someone or something has imbedded extra metal at that point. I could not have happened prior to or during the strike because I see no evidence of the die on the extra piece.

    I'm not really sure of what I am seeing but I think it might warrant an examination by either someone at CONECA of by Mr. Mike Diamond.

    To me, the lapel looks kinda cool.
