thanks, and man i have looked through so many pics, not just this coin, and what i think looks like MD will be in a picture from a top grading site thats listed as doubled die. I understand the flat shelf like etc. but darn it looks close. Also, my scope is awful. Just a wishful thought
I'm inclined to think it is the result of die deterioration because of the visible striations in and around the date. Can you give us a photo of the entire coin? Chris
This is a good example of "In Photos We Cannot Trust." What is called a better picture of Coin A is just an example of how lighting can deceive. One thing I did wonder about were the first photos of the mottos of A and B. Why is the rim on A so much thinner than B?
