I have this quarter that i have had since 1969 or so.i saved it because it looked to be a solid silver 65 as oposed to a clad coin.it works in a quarter machine etc. My friend owns a soda machine company.also i had it wieghed 5.3 grams.a little light.but i was thinking maybe the wieght was off because it is a error. Here are some pictures 68ply 917.jpg 68ply 916.jpg 68ply 915.jpg

A silver quarter should weigh 6.25 grams.....

Its weight is that of a circulated clad quarter, I would assume it is clad, since you cannot tell by the color of a circulated coin and some of the rims of clad coins show no copper.

possibly been electroplated or the surface has otherwise been altered

the weight is the give away. it's clad
