Not silver I know lol. A couple of interesting areas. I know the outer edges are from coin machine etc. Thought they are in pretty good shape. Thoughts please. Thanks!

Ain't no love for '65 dimes.

Aboth the only thing more hated than the 1.6 Billion of them is the 1.8 Billion 1965 quarters.

Finding two dime with very similar damage was quite a stroke of luck.

You’re having fun and enjoying the hobby so do what pleases you. I only need 6 dimes to have the current issues up to date in my last folder. All D mint marks I think.

You don't see them in this kind of shape any longer. Indeed, they aren't really common in any condition at all any longer. Almost 75% of the mintage has been lost and most of the survivors range from VG to F condition because the FED rotates stocks of coins so they all wear evenly. About 80% of the survivors are also culls because somebody is scratching all the coins. This leaves "only" about 80,000,000 in collectible condition and 95% of these are VG/ F.

The rate at which they are being lost and degraded is even increasing. About 4% are lost annually and 5% degraded. Then add in a few collectors removing the nicest coins and it appears that there won't be much of anything in terms of nice '65 dimes in another 5 years.

Then you have the problem that most all of them are weakly struck by worn dies. This specimen was weakly stuck by good dies.

Thanks so much for the info. Yes these sat for a while protected I guess with all other coins. Everyone looks at certain coins a certain way. You and several others appreciate the year and the saving of a coin. I look at it that way anyway. Sounds silly but as my son says, it’s the history as well. Thanks again!

Wow!! These must be coins you've set aside over some period of time.

They are far nicer than anything I see in circulation. I just don't even see that many '65 dimes any longer. They do tend to be a little higher grade than '66 and '67 issues but that means there are more F, not XF-45+.

My dad’s coins I’m slowly going through. Put Lincolns aside for a bit. Lol. I have 1967s, a brown 1966? Among many of the dates to 2000 and mom’s pass then but she was the Quarters ATB etc for my son. It will take a while. Thank you!
