    HI Guys,

Would anyone happen to know the approximate value of the coin listed above? I'm pretty sure this quarter was minted on a copper mint or some weird flaw. The coin is in fairly good condition detail wise, but the obverse die makes it look old. I read that these are extremely rare. Can anyone confirm?

If the obverse mint mark is reeded and the reverse dentals are incuse it might just be a common Type 2 (inverted repunch). Also, not all Type 2 planchets have over-polished collars, but if you see striation cracks on the rim, it's definitely a Type 2 (either VAM-901 or FS-74).
To confirm your strike pairing is a business proof, count the number of devices in the edge field. If that matches the number of cuds in the master hub die..boom...Type C (copper) mint confirmed.

We really need better photos to give you an answer. Type C quarters have very minor differences to the reverse so high quality photos are a must.

Yeah, my i-phone wont cut it. I'm going to get a good camera, I have over $1,000 coins that my father left me that date anywhere from 1919 to 1964 and I just started to try and educate myself on the values and differences.

Thanks for the pic, after looking at it with a high powered lens, it's definitely a type C. The arrow has more detail and the A in dollar looks like the one in the type C pic!

A good marker are the leaves, and the type of strike.
The differences in the other markers are very subtle and can be hard to distinguish.

What the heck are you talking about?

    "Obverse Mint Mark"??

    "Reverse Dentals"??

    "Cuds in the Master hub"??
