physics-fan3.14 You got any more of them.... prooflikes?

Dude, you seriously need to read a book or two about errors and varieties. You seem to be really interested in them, but every day you post a half dozen PMD or MD coins. PMD is PMD, and Machine doubling has a similar and distinctive look in almost every case. There are big differences between hub doubling and machine doubling. They have been discussed at length here on these forums, and in numerous books. Please learn them.

I don't want to sound mean, that is certainly not my intent. I love answering questions and helping.... but when you ask the same question 36 times, and I give the same answer 36 times..... you can see where we might have a problem.

I am not asking if it is hub doubling I meant on these areas ,,,,,,,,,missing initials, grease filled areas and chipping areas around rim..cheers,,,,,,,, Sat Jan 10 21-03-09 copy.jpg Sat Jan 10 21-03-19 copy.jpg Sat Jan 10 21-04-02 copy.jpg Sat Jan 10 21-05-41 copy.jpg

Physics fan, I mean no disrespect, as I know you are VERY well educated fellow, but eddio posts some very nice world coin doubled dies. He posts a lot of coins without doubling. Most are die clashes and such, but there is no need for the junk man. I don't know where the 36 times, ect. comes from. As I said, I know your education kills mine (loved the toning thread by the way), but eddio never posts crap. Lay off buddy. Again, no disrespect intended.

Like I said, I didn't intend for that to sound mean. I know he posts some really cool stuff. But if he wants to learn more and take it to the next level, he needs to read a couple of books.

And I sometimes use hyperbole to make a point. That can be offputting to some.

Eddio, You will see this kind of damage on a lot of 1964 cents, even directly from the mint or whoever wrapped their coins. They are notorious for extreme damage including that peeling around the edges and missing VDB on Lincolns bust. Believe me, I have gone through a ton of these over the years. There seemed to be little thought about quality control at the time on these, but after all they were made for commerce first, and us last. Probably the only good ones came in mint sets.

By the way, I admire Eddio's enthusiasm. He will learn eventually as we all did, in small steps maybe. He has posted some nice Canadian stuff in the past and has inspired me to pull out my accumulated rolls of Canada cents. I hope I find a few nice ones like he has.
