I just got a 1964 dime, and I got it cause it was very toned on the front and I heard coins are sometimes worth more because of their toning. But there are specs and areas where the toning was nicked and scratched off, is this still a nice coin? Is it worth just as much as a normal silver dime because of the nicks and scrachtes of the toning? Around how much do you think it is worth.

The only coins that I am aware of that gain value for toning are either proofs or UNCs. I am not sure about lower grade coins.

I don't think you are going to get any premium with this coin. It's just not in good enough shape and based on the photos the toning isn't that attractive.

For value with dimes, the coin needs to be high grade and have attractive toning. Here is a 1964-D dime in my collection. It is graded MS66 by PCGS and has some attractive toning. It really only has a slight premium. But, I really like it. If you like your coin, then there is nothing wrong with it. But, I don't think you will turn a big profit off it.
