1964 penny toned or environmental damage

    Toning occurs in many different ways. That's just years of circulation toning. Not the type that collectors are searching for.

    All toning is in a way environmental damage. For sure caused by the environment.

    I agree with paddyman, this was acquired during circulation. Nice colour though.
    IMO toning and circulation wear give a coin character, they tell a story.

    It's just turned that color as it's copper and it's been around for 56 years.
