I bought a roll of BU 64 P's and this was in there. it's good right? now the tricky part... I matched it against the coneca listing and I believe it is the WHO 001? the first one on the top of the list. it says "light to medium spread above the crossbar of the 4 of the date" what does WHO stand for anyways.
Do you see anything under the L of LIBERTY? This one is stronger than the doubling usually associated with the doubled working hub that is listed as WHO-001.
I do not see anything under the L but it says strength of doubling will vary depending upon hub and die state. so could that be the case?
I'm still not sure that it's the working hub variety. WHO means working hub obverse. What this means is that the doubling occurred on a working hub which is used to make working dies. This means that all dies struck by those hubs would show doubling. Obviously this means that they are relatively common. This can also happen with the master dies like with the 1972 Cents where 50% or more of all coins from all mints for that year showed the same master die doubling. Here's a good link that explains the process. http://www.shieldnickels.net/articles/Stanton-DoubledDies/DoubledDies-Stanton.html
