    If you're talking about the dark color, it could be improperly annealed (sintered), or what is known as a "Black Beauty'.
    @paddyman98 would know better.
    If it's the circles on the reverse, then probably post mint damage (PMD).

    Environmental Damage is usually the cause for a darker color Nickel. I metal detect and have founds hundreds of examples such as your Nickel.

    Improperly Annealed Nickels in my opinion are usually found in unopened Mint rolls that are quickly attributed.

    Is the second photo close to a full step or 5 step? It kind of feels cheaper then a nickle coin and the rim around the outside looks different. Its 1999

    1st and 3rd Nickles are damaged.

    It's the second one full steps or close to 5

    I see some problems with the continuity of the steps in certain areas. So it's not full steps :(
