    no I did not, all though it does appear that way, I used a qtip and some ash, I don't believe in chemically treating coins

    its not worth much even if it started out unc, but for the future i wouldn't try cleaning any coins....

    i normally don't I found it in some change and it have a gummy black substance on top of it

    What do I think of it...well it looks like a buffer attachment was put on a drill and it buffed the heck out of it. And I would spend it IMO

    FWIW, Acetone, xylene, toluene, lighter fluid, alcohol, or soap and water would probably all have removed that "gummy black substance" without doing any (or minimal) damage to the coin. What you did with that Q-tip was to damage it forever although it will probably never be a collector's coin anyway.

    All that, but the good news is that you penny is still worth 2¢ or nearly so. See http://www.coinflation.com/
