Good Afternoon. I am still at the stage of newness when I see things that are not there. And I thought this was going to be a nice relaxing hobby, rather than an obsession...

Anyway, I have 2 1964 Kennedy halves and when I was looking at the reverse sides I noticed a few differences between the two coins. The reverse of the 1964 which is different has (I think) the characteristics of the 1964 SMS. The first two pics are of the coin in question. The "G" in the FG seems to be of a different shape- straighter upright with a descending top. The second pic shows gaps on the last 3 rays where they meet the upper set of stars and gaps in the last 2 rays on the bottom set of stars.

The next 2 pics (the other 1964) show no break where the rays cross the stars and on the FG the "G" seems to be a bit more round and wider (as seen by the space between the back and the upright).

The last pic is the obverse which, to me, does not look "special" in any way. Other than the obvious fact that the finish is less brilliant than SMS's, under light there is significant cartwheeling which I believe is not present in proofs or SMS.

Additionally, there is no mint mark on the reverse of either coin.

Anyway, I look forward to hearing any feedback offered. Thanks, C3
