1964 Jefferson Nickel Rim Error

    Hi, I found this at work. Is this a legitimate error ? I did find other pictures of this exact protruding rim on the outer right side of this nickel. If it is a mint error, is it worth anything?

    I don't know what caused the damage, but it definitely isn't a mint error.

    Can you give us an image showing the entire edge (third side of the coin) at the point of the anomaly?

    I hope this is the third edge? The edge between my fingers is where the protruding starts.

    Looks like it could be a partial collar strike.
