Would like opinions on what type of damage this may be. The reeding on the edges seem to be fine. The letters GOD & TRUST are doubled and the BE in liberty also have some damage. The WE is pretty much trash. No damage on the back. Would like to hear what you have to say.

This looks like a laminated (Coinage defect consisting of a portion of the metal separating from the rest due to impurities or internal stresses; common with clad or plated coinage) coin to me.

Looks like a bad planchet (lamination error) to me also.

I was kinda thinking that. Just wanted to make sure. Are these kind of errors collectable since they are somewhat common. Thanks all.

It’s not too uncommon. I have 2 just in my sliver Roosevelt collection. This one is a bit odd looking though. It could be from a bubble in the planchet that popped when it was struck. Some collectors see laminated as damaged coins.

Maybe a more error savvy board member can give you a better idea on it’s value.
