I don't know if this is considered an error but can anyone tell me what they think? The quarter seems very deeply stamped into the coin, what is this called? Is it worth more than the silver value of the quarter?
The coin appears to have been "spooned". The reeding on the edge has been flattened thereby making the rim deeper. Chris
If you will notice I posted this on a different thread at the same time! Not for a different answer so that comment was not appropriate. So sorry to bother you "very nice" people with my questions! I posted it on 2 threads because my questions were about if it was an error and then if so what the value is so that was covered by 2 for the different names of the 2 forums I posted on. So please refrain from making insulting comments about something before you know why someone does what they do!! I also never said anyone's comments were wrong. I am just trying to learn so I don't have to ask the same question again.
Thank you, I have never heard the term spooned before so I did not know what that was till now. Thanks again
There is nothing wrong with asking multiple questions on the same thread. The problem you might encounter when using separate threads is that some people might ignore one thread over the other thinking that it was just a mistaken double post. Chris
Nah. Your original thread ( https://www.cointalk.com/threads/er...tamped-on-the-wrong-coin.254999/#post-2016362 ) was posted at 10:36am and responded to as PMD by Medoraman at 10:52am. This current thread was posted at 10:53am so, they weren't posted at the same time. Now you probably began posting them close together but from the time stamps, it gives the appearance that maybe you didn't care for the responses in the first thread. Regardless, I don't think that RickMp's comment was "inappropriate" or "insulting". Perhaps it's your relative newness but trust me, if Rickmp wanted to insult you, he probably wouldn't have been so nice.
