I found it in a coinstar reject tray along with $0.85 and a blank penny planchet.I want to know what possible value I might have if it proves to be authentic. Also anyone know if I could possibly authenticate it without a digital scale because I lack one, any thoughts??Ps hey guys I am back after four months of no internet!

I think we can rule out a cent or a dime. Maybe he found a quarter struck on a nickel planchet. Inquiring minds want to know.

1964 Dime maybe? This is just an absolute random guess so don't make any assumptions.

Could only be something bigger then a nickel... Quarter would be my guess.

A nickel planchet would not fit inside a collar for dimes. As Matt points out it can only be a coin with a larger diameter. (That is why I said above: "I think we can rule out a cent or a dime.")

I hope it's not a nickel. I've seen a lot of 1964-D nickels and believe it or not they were all struck on nickel planchets.

Maybe it was a '64 Dodge.

Does the blank planchet have an upset rim? If not, it is just a blank and those are very hard to prove that they are from the Mint.

What's the chance that there exist/existed '64-D Peace dollars struck on wrong planchets? :)
