Hi There Everyone, I've picked up several rolls of 64D's looking for rpm's (particularly the #5) Unfortunately, I don't own a copy of the RPM book, but have checked it out from the ANA library in the past, so Im familiar with a lot the ones that are out there. Since I dont have a scanner, Im going to try to describe what I've found in the hopes that someone with the RPM book can tell me if this sounds like something that's in there. Im working on getting the coins scanned by someone I know who has a scanner, and will post as soon as Im able. I've found a lot of coins with what I'd describe as what almost looks like a "die spur" (similar to the one seen on 1943's that's mistaken for the 1943/2) comming off the bottom west serif of the "D" mint mark at a 45 degree angle going south east. It's very light and what really stands out is just the part right underneath the serif (making me think its a D/D south) After looking at some of them at various angles and under different light though, I can see a very faint continuance of it going south-east at almost a 45 degree angle - like a die spur. It doesn't go that far really, so it could be like a CW south east rotation. Does this sound familiar / exsist in the listings? I know a written description only goes so far, and no one can really authoritatively reply without seeing a scan, I just thought I'd ask anyway. Thanks and Regards, Chris
Nah, actually the piece is on the other side of the "D" next to Monticello, going the same direction as #6 though (SE). I've come to the conclusion that a lot of what I'm finding is some kind of strike doubling. I do have two which really appear to be RPM'S though... Im trying to get some images up here ASAP, so you can give me your thoughts - Thanks for your reply.
