Among the other coins in my brothers safe that I inherited in Aug. '19 were 6 rolls of Kennedy Halves. I catagorized/processed 3 rolls about 6 months ago, most of them were not collectable as they were too worn...1971 thru 1993 or thereabouts. I did get a few BU but I didn't get too excited since they are all clad, no silver. 2 weeks ago I discovered the other 3 rolls that had been set aside, these ranged from 1964 thru 1984 and there are many BU. Follows is what I thought was Wexler DDO-003, just a doubled die until I looked closer and cross-checked the FS designation. It is a TDO, Wexler calls out tripling but designates it DDO-003. The cross check revealed this is FS-103, AU58. The characteristics are easily seen in IGWT. But the tripling is best seen in close up on the WE TRUST... ...and finally the last die marker shows it is also the WRPM-006. The rpm is called a D/D north. I never thought I would ever find a TDO, heck, I considered myself fortunate just to nail down a few DDO/DDRs...normal abnormal stuff, if you take my meaning. Anyway, just thought I would share the find. This one is going to my younger son. I already gave some other parts of my collection to my older son, this helps even the dole out a little better. At this point I have given over 50% of my collection of the past 60 years to my family. I hope to complete the turnover of the other half within the next year. I am not in poor health, I just want them to get them now, not later. This way I get to decide who gets what and fine tune the giving to what they are interested in. There is some commemorative stuff I have given as well. My best to all, may you all enjoy the find...Spark
I’m putting all the keepers in Airtite capsules. I bought 50 prepping for just this sort of find. With all the really nice BU dates in these 3 rolls, I will have to buy some more. So far, I have found 3 ‘64, 3 64-D, 4 40%, and then it skips to about 30 1971s. About half of the clads have lustrous reflectivity and the ‘84s look gem.
I research them, purchase them, inventory them. Do I get to say who they go to, NO. My wife says she will take care that when I am gone, it's in the will, like she is going to outlive me. She probably will, selfish old lady.
