1964 cent looks like lamination problem.

    Yes. Lamination, if you think about it is more like De-Lamination. That is when pieces, parts, sections come off the Planchet either before or after it is struck. The newer plated Zinc Cents just as it is called are copper plated, so plating issues are a bit different from actual metal laminations.

    This one could be a few things. A worn Die, Planchet Flaw, Finning, Debris, die rust.. Let's wait to see what others say. It's so small the area that some people might not even bother much with it :yuck:

    95% copper 5% zinc. But it is possible to have laminations with just one metal as well caused by bubbles of dissolved gases coming out of the melt, or other contaminanates, slag etc, being trapped inside the ingot.
